About HairWithVim
HairWithVim is more than a brand. It’s more than a salon. It’s the story of a young woman who started with nothing but a dream, a set of hands, and a burning desire to make a difference.
On October 8th, 2023, I made a decision that would change my life forever. At the time, I didn’t know it — in fact, I thought it would just be a small side hustle to help me get by while I returned to college to finish my beauty diploma. I was working from my bedroom in my grandma’s house, balancing studies with life’s uncertainty.
Before that, I’d tried almost everything — working security, being a teaching assistant, teaching dance, serving drinks in a bar, even cooking as a sous chef with my mum. Yet no matter where I went, nothing lit a fire in me. Nothing made me feel alive.
And then I found hair.
My passion for this work was born out of something personal — I live with alopecia. I know first-hand the emotional weight that hair carries. I know what it feels like to want to feel beautiful again. To want to look in the mirror and recognise yourself. To walk into a room with confidence instead of insecurity. And I realised… this wasn’t just about hair. This was about helping people reclaim themselves.
So I poured my heart into every braid, every style, every client. I listened. I learned. I built. And slowly, what started in one small bedroom began to grow into something bigger — a safe space where people feel seen, valued, and celebrated.
Now, HairWithVim is on a new journey. I’m teaching others the craft, creating opportunities, and building a legacy that will go beyond me. I want to change the way people see UK hairstylists. I want to prove that we can raise the standard, protect the art, and give more than just a service — we can give confidence, joy, and dignity.
I came from nothing. I am still building. I am still learning. And I am still dreaming — because this is only the beginning. One day, I’ll look back and realise the ripple effect of what started here: how many lives were changed, how many people felt seen, how many found their voice through something as simple, yet powerful, as hair.
For now, I keep showing up. I keep creating. I keep fighting for my clients and for my craft. And I will never stop — because this is my passion, my purpose, and my promise.
